What is it ?
In its most basic form, its sending your voice calls over the internet instead of over your normal telephone company.
Advantages – cheap calls, free calls to connected accounts. The most successfull VoIP story is undoubtably Skype, recently purchased by Micorsoft for £5 Billion.
